BLOG DISCUSSION: The gifted.
My Life Coaching passion is to reach out to the qualitative and substantive personality--to the truly gifted--and avoid the shallow, pop-cultural, the banal--the fall-outs from the fallenness of society--in Christian Leadership, in Music, in the Fine Arts--and rise above Age-bias, superficial 'appearance-discrimination', and other poor measures of what God's gifts really are (Romans 12 and I Corinthians 12-13). "A man's gift will make a place for him." "A man's (person's) gift will bring him before kings." (Proverbs) 'Shallow Brooks' are not only noisy--they are vulgar and boring--and are the 'bad fruit' of a fallen secularized world. Brewer's Principles of Life Coaching are: to lift the seeker-of-life-solutions from that which is Trivial--to that which is Profound; from that which is Vulgar--to that which is Beautiful; and from that which is Profane--to that which is Sacred.
(not just elected, selected, appointed...)
1. No musicians--without the Gift of music on any Christian platform.
2. No pastors--without the Gift of pastoral teaching, the gift of shepherding, the gift of empathy and compassion of Jesus Christ--in any church.
3. No counselors--without the Gift of priestly encouragement, intercession, God's Psychiatry, Life Coaching--in any Christian counseling office.
4. No Fine Artist (painter, writer, sculptor, composer, instrumentalist, craftsman, architect)--without the Gift of the Artist's Eye and Ear--creatively, conceptually, compositionally, and caringly--in any studio, gallery, exhibition, church, concert hall or the agora.
Gifts only describe the Giver--not the recipient. The Holy Spirit will only describe and exalt Jesus Christ--via His Gifts--not through the soulish or carnal presentations and earthly pop-promotions of the worldly non-gifted. True Gifts (and giftedness) is always a revelation of God in some beautiful creative way. Ministry dies when the 'people gifts' and the 'spiritually gifted' are not recognized, acknowledged--and who are tragically--often rejected, stoned, trashed by the Maplelthorpe types of ungodly culture--or crucified.
